On the 15 April 2023, a stakeholder workshop on the further development of the German Sustainability Code (DNK) took place in Berlin. Claudia Gersdorff energetically led the day as the moderator. The event started with an interactive welcome by Reiner Hoffmann and Gunda Röstel from the Council for Sustainable Development (RNE), Sabine Hepperle from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, and Birgit Riess from the Bertelsmann Foundation. In total, twelve workshop sessions provided in-depth insights into the planned changes and the future direction of the DNK.
Prof. Dr. Alexander Bassen and Prof. Dr. Kerstin Lopatta provided comprehensive insights into the current drafts for the DNK’s further development and led discussions on the associated challenges and opportunities. Through collaboration with distinguished representatives from business, politics, and academia, the future of sustainability reporting was discussed, and concrete steps towards integrating the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) were developed.
